Geride bıraktığımız sene tüm dünyaya gösterdi ki küreselleşmenin en önemli etkileri yalnızca piyasalar üzerinde değil aynı zamanda kamu sağlığı, ekolojik sürdü- rülebilirlik, biyoçeşitlilik gibi hayatın en temel bileşenlerinde de kendisine yer ediniyor. Küresel refahın artmasında kat edilen tüm ilerlemelere rağmen kapsayıcı ve sürdürülebilir kalkınmanın önünde önemli engeller bulunmaya devam ediyor. Yeni tip koronavirüs (COVID-19) salgınının sarsıcı etkileri birçok alanda uzun uğraşlar sonucu elde edilmiş pek çok kazanımın da yok olmasına neden oldu. Dünya nüfusunun yalnızca yarısından azı temel sağlık hizmetlerinden fayda- lanabiliyor. Uzaktan öğrenme imkânı olmayan en az 500 milyon öğrenci bulunuyor. The impacts of globalisation on the financial world and markets have long been a debated issue, sometimes re- garded as an opportunity and other times, as a risk that needs attention. The past year has showed us all that the biggest impacts of globalisationwere not only felt on the markets but also on the most fundamental components of life such as public health, ecological sustainability, and biodiversity. Despite all the progress made in increasing global prosperity, there are still important obstacles to inclusive and sustainable development. The traumatic effects of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) destroyed lots of gains that we achieved after long efforts in many fields. Only less than half of the world's popu- lation can benefit from basic health services. There are at least 500 million students who cannot have access to distance learning opportunities.
